A home schooling education is a prized asset to anyone’s background. It demonstrates independent work completed in a timely manner, often reflecting an education well above the average education level of that from a public or private school.

A home schooling education most often involves well thought out planning and instruction from a loving parent or guardian who’s gently guided the child through many series of targeted lessons. The lessons have covered in-depth information on not only main topics of focus as required by the local laws by often much more advanced training with onsite visits at local industry establishments and interviews with their company workers as part of the lessons.

The more customized and in-depth lessons learned by those with home schooling education provide a much more well-rounded real-life education for after high school years. While their peers from public and private schools battle learning good independent life skills, work and study habits, their home schooling peers already excel in those areas, for example.

The child’s home schooling education has included plenty of socialization within peers groups of other home schooled children and children who attend their local churches, on average. Plus home schooling education means an average of 3 children or more per household, so others to play with, plus neighborhood children, library groups, etc.

Grades, maturity levels and college work / study habits of those who have had a home schooling education are on the whole at more advanced levels than those of their peers in public and private schools. Those educated at home with a more Christian approach, especially, tend to not have dealt with the negative issues like early sexual activity and pregnancy, substance abuse, neglect, abuse, etc. as witnessed in their public and private school peers. And those with a home schooling education are accepted more often in universities and colleges, often having had scholarships offered, too.

While public and private schools have time-tables for sessions, breaks, months to complete lessons, etc., home schooling education offers a much more flexible training program. It can go with families when they travel, take breaks, are transferred for work / military or other reasons. And home schooling education offers much more flexibility with materials; books, online learning, non-violent materials, Christian materials with incorporated religious training and daily activities, etc.

In summary, a home schooling education can offer a very valuable asset. Anyone interested in giving their child or children a head start in life, a solid foundation for learning and growing should delve further into the subject.

My brother recently decided to become a pilot. Becoming a pilot is a costly venture and since I work in the industry as a buyer, he contacted me for some advice on student pilot materials and headsets. The supplies were easily referred as there are four main publishers of student pilot material and Jeppesen seems to be the most popular. However, it was difficult to direct him to the best aviation headset to purchase.

In order to direct him to the most cost effective headset I needed to determine a couple of factors. The first is price. The most popular student headsets are made by David Clark, and the most popular headset for students is the H10-13.4, the cheapest price I found was about $299.95. Another popular brand would have to be AvComm. AvComm offers a PNR Headset AC-200PNR that is in the $100.00 price range. Finally, Aviation Supplies and Academics offers a headset called the Airclassic HS-1 that is in the same price range the AvComm PNR. Therefore, the cheaper headsets are made by AvComm and ASA.

However, cost is not the only aspect to look at when purchasing an aviation headset. What about reliability? David Clark and AvComm both offer 5 year manufacturer warranties, while the ASA HS-1 has a lifetime guarantee. Headsets often go defective as cords can acquire shorts, they can be sat on, or even crushed in a flight bag. Therefore, a lifetime warranty is definitely tempting. This aspect goes hand and hand with cost as I am sure that you will feel better replacing a $100.00 headset rather than a more expensive model. My flight department use to operate with 12 Bose Aviation X headsets, although the headsets worked great and were comfortable, they were always being broken by the replacement of a 9 volt battery that controls the electronic noise reduction. After paying for 10 or more $500.00 repairs to these headsets, our flight department decided to downgrade to a Telex commercial headset. The same thought that goes into purchasing headsets for commercial or corporate use will benefit student pilots as well. Less investment = less lost.

Finally, the last topic would be in regards to comfort. According to reviews all the people that purchase David Clark headsets are satisfied with the comfort while ASA and AvComm have mixed reviews. A chief pilot at my organization talked to me about the HS-1 Headset. He states, the headset works great and still works to this day, but the headband was quite uncomfortable for long trips. However, there is a solution to comfort issue on either the ASA or the Avcomm Headsets. Gel and foam ear seals along with replacement headbands can offer additional comfort to these units ultimately making them comparable to the David Clark Model. Total investment in upgrades would be in the 150-175 range.

Given this information, what headset are you going to buy?

If you are concerned about the education your child is receiving at either a public or private school, you may have considered the option of home schooling. There are many advantages to home schooling that are easy to think of, but in making your decision you must also consider the disadvantages. Yes, despite all the bonuses you can think of in home schooling your child, there are many disadvantages to the process.

Home schooling is a process that requires a massive amount of time and dedication. If you want to home school your child you must be present for a large part of the day. Kids are kids. Depending on how motivated by academic success your child is, he or she may not require constant supervision. However, in many studies, parental supervision is the key behind the success of home schooling programs.

Parents must also possess instructional skills or access to someone who can teach effectively. Simply putting your child in a room with textbooks will most likely result in home schooling failure. In addition, you will have to purchase materials that public and private schools provide for students.

There is also the need to be able to serve as guidance counselor as your child may require specialized instruction due to a learning disability. Public and private schools usually provide these services with qualified individuals.

One important benefit of an academic institution is the opportunity for children to become properly socialized. Attending school with other children from all walks of life leads to the development of social skills. One of the disadvantages of home schooling is the relative isolation children have from their peers.

Many parents find comfort in blaming the educational system for the shortcomings in their childs academic performance. If you choose to home school you will be accepting full responsibility for the outcome of your childs education. This is more of a burden than it seems. Studies have shown that many home schooling ventures fail due to the fact that the home generally lacks qualified educators. Many parents have gripes about teachers, but the fact is that they generally have to teach large classes filled with children with diverse learning needs. In addition, certified educators have taken teaching classes and have passed state examinations to receive their teaching certificates.

When you approach the issue of home schooling you must examine both sides. Sure, there are plenty of advantages, but if you forget to look into the disadvantages, you may be setting yourself up for failure.

The Oxford dictionary describes play as: to fulfill, to occupy oneself, to have the ability to perform, to undertake or exercise activities for pleasure.

Not any particular child, but every child in any nation, environment or circumstance needs play. It’s absolutely necessary for children to play, to express themselves social, emotionally and physically. Play allows itself to be an individual creation or to be shared with others, it can be pulled in any direction letting it be turned into anything a child would like, preparing a healthy start to a lifetime of learning. Play is so special that its generosity even includes having fun; in fact that is one of the most important things about it. It has so many benefits that head off in every direction developing all the important ingredients for strong head start in a child life.

It is the adults job to explore the conditions which are best for maximizing the potential benefits of play for children to develop these social skills. One of the ways to do this is to provide and encourage games that are fun, exciting and positive for children. Many social skills are learnt through co-operative activities allowing the child to learn how to confidently form stronger friendships and relationships with siblings and parents.

Activities that involve interacting with others teach children not only about themselves but also about other childrens feeling needs and wants. Since they have learnt to value others’ emotions they develop skills to handle confrontations and conflicts in the future.

It’s also important for a child to develop physical strengths along with the social and emotional. Play has a huge impact in this development for children of varying ages, abilities and interests. Physical play strengthens a child’s fine motor skills as well as gross motor skills. Fine motor skills include such things as eye, mouth, wrist, finger and toe movements, whereas motor skills are the exercise of the larger muscle groups like the arms, legs and torso. This motor play provides critical opportunities for childrens overall strengthening of muscles, nerves and brain stimulation.

Play involves social, emotional, and physical learning. Included in all these types of learning comes cognitive development, an important result of play. Play gives children the opportunity to understand the world, interact with others in social ways and to express and control emotions. Play is a child’s opportunity to practice the skills they are building, and to try out new tasks. This gives them the framework and knowledge to solve more complex problems. All these things are needed for a child to get a healthy start in life. But the most important part of play is having fun. Play and fun are inseparable from each other. Without play, fun doesnt exist and without fun play cant exist.

The primary reason for implementing teacher training is so that teachers are well equipped and knowledgeable when they first start a job in a school or any other education centre. However teachers arent always prepared for what they may come across. Teacher training schools dont teach teachers how to deal and cope with all situations, most of the troublesome problems they face are those, which they encounter first hand and have never had any real experience of. Teachers can be faced with many difficult situations such as student behaviour problems and inappropriate actions, it is only when faced with these problems that teachers will know how they will react to it. This is why the teaching profession has such a high rate of people leaving as you cannot fully appreciate the difficulties of being a teacher until you have witnessed it first hand.
During a teachers professional career a school will need to ensure teachers are regularly trained and kept up to date with new and current methods in education by extra training.

Good teacher education is no doubt one of the most significant things for a successful school. Tutors not only must excel at their applied chosen area but they are increasingly being faced with difficulties, they need to know how to cope and handle tough behaviour from classes, also how to deal with tender affairs students might have.

Teachers are prepared a little when they initially train to become teachers but on occasions it usually needs much more, and guidance from professionals may very well be required. These professionals will guide you on your concern area and will draw on their own skills and experiences to help you. They will attempt to help you master any problems you have and let you continue teaching in a beneficial way to pupils.

To be a teacher you need to have the right temperament and desire to be dedicated to what you do. You should be ready to give up some personal time to join team meetings, mark students work, aid pupils after school or even take part in after school activities. Teaching has a very high decline rate, mostly due to difficult behaviour and teachers deciding that the profession isnt what they originally thought it would be like.

A person don’t need to clock A FEW hours of study time daily if you would like to achieve great grades. It all boils down to find out how to study effectively and maximizing your study time to finish studying what you want to study. As a researcher in the field of educational psychology, I know through a great number of surveys and findings that people who study long hours each other won’t necessary achieve academic success if they do not know how to study effectively. Of course I’m not saying you shouldn’t put in effort to study, I’m just saying, merging a bit of hard work and study techniques will get you very far up the position ladder in school.

So the secret behind all high achievers in college is being aware of how to study effectively. Here are a few suggestions:

Take control of your stress and reduce it to a manageable level. An excessive amount of stress is harmful to your cognitive functioning and will hinder your ability to memorize information. Procrastination will gradually lead to a stress filled period just prior to a major occasion such as an exam or project submission dateline. So keeping yourself up late to study EIGHT chapters the day prior to your exams doesn’t help at all. Study regularly from day one of school and you will definitely see a big improvement in your grades. A little amount of effort each day can lead to a huge difference at the end of your semester.
Take little steps. If you have a huge amount of information to learn and memorize, looking at the sheer amount of pages in your textbook doesn’t aid your emotional response to the circumstance. Separate your section into pages of threes. Go through 3 pages by 3 pages. Reward yourself with a little sweet after every 3 pages and celebrate, because you’re 3 steps closer to reaching your goal. With this, you will find your studying process satisfying and more successful.

Take more breaks when you’re studying. A person’s maximum concentration period is about 90 minutes, so make sure that you take a break after at least every 90 mins of studying. Taking more breaks helps you to memorize more facts as we can study more efficiently at the start and end of our studying time.
The above are just simply one or two guidelines among the numerous that can help you achieve academic success with the smallest amount of hard work. Studying can be monotonous sometimes, but with the right techniques, you can get it over and done with fast yet get distinctions for your exams.

We have a student loan crisis here in the United States. Student loan debt in aggregate, an unsustainable bubble of government inspired debt mania, has sky rocketed over the last 10 years nearly 400 percent. The total student loan debt is now nearing 1 trillion dollars with over 10% of that in default or delinquency and much of the rest teetering on collapse.

The government makes these loans available to all manner of students attending a wide variety of schools. Many of these loans are extended to students paying exorbitant tuition rates to traditional non-profit schools rewired and then transformed into “paper mills” or to a whole new category of for profit schools many with even more exorbitant tuition rates and seemingly in indirect proportion to the value received.

Students pay excessively high tuition rates for watered down curricula at a plethora of institutions offering degrees that don’t meet the smell test when compared to the value associated historically with the attainment of a 4-year degree. Many students even after graduation struggle to properly read, write, or do arithmetic as would be expected of a fully educated graduate of a traditional university.

Many profit and non-profit educational institutions are drinking at the government loan spout while at the same time “dummying down” the path to a degree. Government money is fueling the demand and the corresponding tuition inflation is creating a student loan bubble of catastrophic proportions. Many employers no longer value these degrees unless they are from certain very high-level schools; the kind of schools that even student loans from the government can’t cover.

Indentured servitude is a good metaphor for what is happening with the student loan fiasco; this is a truly abusive system that takes advantage of those with high hopes and trying to improve their lives. At least an indentured servant, historically, could learn a craft or a trade that was with them for life; what are these folks getting but membership in a new class of debtor?

With the passage of the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005 student loan debt public or private is no longer dischargeable in bankruptcy court. Many of our younger citizens now carry their student loan debt around with them like the proverbial, “ball and chain” looking for a job from employers many of whom no longer value the degree. What is next? Will they bring back a “debtors prison”?

Our once very fine university system has been severely damaged by this phenomenon. Not all loans are bad and not all schools are “paper mills” but the trend is clear and this will end badly unless this system is rehabilitated.

As many are all too aware, student loan debt has been skyrocketing in the recent past, rising above $1 trillion and becoming the number one source of debt in America. With the average college graduate owing $40,000 in student loans, and with interest rates held at artificially low levels only through 2015, some believe there is a student loan debt bubble that looks much like the housing market bubble of 2007 – 2008. As for what there is to be done, arguments abound, but no one seems to have all the answers.

Why Student Debt is Potentially Harmful

According to many bankruptcy lawyers, a huge problem with student loan debt is that it is not dischargeable in bankruptcy. Once you agree to take a student loan, you are saddled with this debt for the foreseeable future, and without the protections offered to consumers who take on other forms of debt, such as medical debt or credit card debt. In other words, going to school is a riskier investment in many ways than buying encyclopedias with a credit card and teaching yourself.

Bankruptcy lawyers see the student loan debt situation as a bubble comparable to the housing bubble because of its artificial nature. Essentially, the federal government is comfortable approving near-infinite amounts of student loans, because they make nearly $20 billion per year on the interest, penalties and fees associated with these loans. As stated by the bankruptcy lawyers, these loans are not dischargeable in bankruptcy, and the government is able to collect even from defaulters using the powerful tools at a powerful government’s disposal. So it is in the government’s best interest to continue approving student loans and extending credit to all who ask for it.

In turn, this (for all intents and purposes) infinite amount of available credit allows universities to raise tuition prices at exponential rates (according to some sources, tuition rates have been rising at three times the rate of inflation), resulting in an artificially high cost of education which can only be covered by taking out more federal loans, a cycle which could continue ad nauseam.

Many people have proposed alternatives to this cycle, which some see as a scheme and some as a nearly-criminal system of predatory lending; most involve forcing the government to stop making credit universally available, which would then force the cost of tuition down as higher education became subject to the competitive pricing of a free market. There are dangers in that, however, as there will be a transitional phase in which many potential students may be unable to obtain funding for university education. It is a thorny tangle and will take a lot of hard work to sort it all out.

Several educational services sponsor free online home schooling in which an online schoolroom is offered for the use of home schoolers everywhere. As a teacher any home schooling parent can be taken who creates resources and activities on this site. Since it is a free online home schooling, all that you need to do is to go to the site and enroll in the class.

    Teacher

If you want to be enrolled as a teacher, just post a message in the general introductions forum, in which you talk about yourself. Some teachers who are enrolled here are in several private online classrooms and online schools as well as in formal, online courses. At any centre which provides free online home schooling, the home schooling children have access to highly qualified intellectual role models.

The group of teachers is diverse and better than traditional schools. The major core subjects are covered, and English is done through college entrance level, and maths is through calculus. The teachers generally have many years of public school experience and they are deeply aware of the problems inherent in traditional schooling methods. They provide a highly flexible and inspiring alternative learning environment and a systematic online home schooling program.

    Moodle

There is a free online home schooling course provided by the Moodle online course software which includes facilities like quizzes, forums, chatrooms, assignments, surveys, journals, lessons and workshops. This is being conducted presently as an experiment in collaborative online education. If you use the facilities on this platform, it can prove beneficial not only to you but also for other home schooling families who can learn from seeing what the others are doing.

In the free online home schooling the parents have to take over the role of the teacher, and create an educationally friendly environment. Naturally all parents cannot feel confident about teaching all the subjects to their children. The home schooling classes which are provided are an excellent alternative to just learning from the parents.

    Free World U

Another interesting example of free online home schooling is the Free World U, which is a new site for home schoolers. A method of accelerated learning is used here and it works much faster than the conventional school methods. The curriculum covers the grades preschool through 12.

Teaching by flashcards is the method of learning here and it works very fast. Every information is broken up into simple fact units and placed on flashcards. and the flashcards have graphics or diagrams as illustrations. The students mark the flashcards as correct or incorrect and through this method they sort the units into learned and unlearned categories.

Hence free online home schooling is actually studying that the child does at home under the supervision of academic teachers, but the parent needs to get involved in the education of the child, but not teach the daily lessons.
